Holy Ground

Take off your sandals, for the placewhere you are standing is holy ground...Exodus 3:5The funeral home called a few days ago (7/8) to tell us that Audrey's grave marker was in.This week has been hard, and for some reason, this pushed me over the edge emotionally.  I don't even know if I could say it was sadness, because I have been waiting for weeks for this call.  I wanted her to have more than the little plastic placeholder with the piece of paper in it. I was relieved that it was finally there, but it took my breath away to hear the words.  It feels so...

Elias is on his way!!!

***7/13 update***Everyone is doing great...I haven't downloaded my photos yet, so if you want to meet Elias, please go to Jessica's blog...they have posted several videos and pictures of the sweet pumpkin pie.  We are going to head over this evening with the girls, so hopefully I will get some more photos then.  I just wanted to thank you all for your prayers and words of encouragement while Jess was in labor/delivering.  I know I don't know all of your faces, but you have been my friends for months, and I am so glad you walked this with us as well.  I am grateful for...

***Update***Just wanted to let you all know that Lifeway (Christian bookstore chain) is having a sale, and several of the books I mentioned are on sale until the 26th.  The Jesus Storybook Bible is only $8.50 and the Henrietta Mears book (What the Bible is all about Bible Handbook) is 50% off, so it's $8.99.  I think it's the best of it's kind, so if you are wanting to dig into scripture, this is a great place to start!!!! You can do it!!!Also, I am so excited about the Bible Study.  I will post more when I have a better idea of the details, but I am sad to say I don't...

Blink

~This post was written in pieces over the past few days.  It was really emotional for me, and I could not do it all at once.  The Lord beckoned me back to it until it was finished, and I am so glad He did...it was good for my soul to be near Him in these moments...thank you, Lord.Several weeks ago, I received an email from a woman who is a photographer, and she wanted to let me know that she had decided to do an "auction" in honor of Audrey. The top bidder would receive a session with her.  I was so honored, and I immediately went to her website to check out her work. I...

A Thursday Morning

I'm just going to come out and say it.I was really nervous about the whole "homeschooling" thing.  I put it on the blog, and then immediately, I kind of panicked.  "Why?" you ask.  Why would a woman feel fear when she says the word "homeschool?"  A little background...Last year, Todd and I decided to go to a homeschool convention.  About $100 later I decided this was going to be fun.  Curriculum, planning, fresh pencils....ooohhh this is Type A heaven.  I told my neighbor I was thinking about it and she suggested I start braiding my hair and invest in a...

Where I’ve Been…

***update*** I just came up for lunch and am reading through all of your great advice...God and I have been talking through things this morning, and we'll see what that leads to...also, to the lady who said her sister-in-law saw me here in the hotel the other day, you better tell her to give me a squeeze if she sees me again!!!! And I am also hoping my kids weren't picking their noses or fighting over shovels...And to those of you who have mentioned giving up coke, chocolate, carbs and coffee, just know that those are my main food groups (the four C's. I'm sure there's a pyramid with...

Ever Sweeter

***note*** I just realized I have misplaced my list of people asking for a Bible.  If you requested one, and haven't received it, please write to me again....I am so sorry about this.  It is, of course, entirely possible that the devil stole my notebook and hid it on my bookshelf....he's so stealthy...(that only made sense to about 15 women, but they are all laughing their heads off...love you, Amy!)I started writing this post on 8/7, and was only able to finish it this evening...It's been four months today. That's hard to say. I guess in some ways it hurts to think about the...

She asked me out on a walk…

Hey everyone, Angie asked if I would share some thoughts today.  It is a very special day for us.Before I share, I want to say thank you to all of you who have traveled this incredibly painful road with us.  You have no idea how your comments and emails have encouraged us.  How your prayers have helped carry us though.  You have been family to us, the body of Christ, carrying this burden with us.  I can’t express how painful it has been to lose Audrey, and how empty some days have been, but we know she is with Jesus, and that He makes no mistakes even when it...
